Job summary

WSP is seeking a Distribution Line Engineer to design overhead and underground power distribution systems across British Columbia. You will work within the Power Delivery team, contributing to projects from customer connections to system reconfigurations.

You will prepare calculations, sizing, materials specifications, and construction documents, apply CSA standards, and collaborate with clients and project managers to ensure safe, cost-effective energy solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering required; P.Eng in BC or near final stage of licensure preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in distribution line design (4kV–35kV) and related utility standards.
• Exposure to distribution design software and CSA standards.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead and underground power distribution systems for projects from customer connections to large-scale reconfigurations.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design packages, equipment sizing, material specifications and construction documentation.
• Apply distribution design software and CSA standards to deliver compliant designs.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers and internal teams for estimates, schedules, bids and engineering support.
• Conduct quality reviews, site visits and construction-phase support to ensure safety and quality.
• Strengthen client relationships and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
