Distribution Attendant (Casual)

BC Clinical & Support Services

Vancouver, BC

Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for transporting supplies and materials within the facility using a tow motor, pallet jack, or by hand. Responsibilities include delivering items such as perishables and valuables to specific units or departments.

What you'll do

1. Operate a Power Pallet Jack or tow motor to transport supplies, load and unload items, and deliver to designated areas according to policies and procedures.
2. Deliver purchase items and specials, including perishables and valuables, ensuring receipt is signed and returned.
3. Transport and collect items such as requisitions, mail, supplies, equipment, and pharmacy items throughout the hospital.
4. Operate garbage compactor dumping mechanism at VGH site, and handle linen loading and unloading at C&W site.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you bring

Qualifications

1. Grade 10 or equivalent education, training, and experience.
2. Valid Class 5 vehicle license (REQUIRED).
3. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
4. Ability to interact effectively with others.
5. Physical capability to perform duties.
6. Organizational skills and ability to operate related equipment.
