Placements24 client in Kimberley is seeking a seasoned Dispute Resolution Specialist to lead legal disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation. You will assess claims, shape resolution strategies, and guide proceedings to favorable outcomes while managing costs and risks.

The ideal candidate will be an admitted attorney with strong advocacy and civil procedure knowledge, capable of navigating complex disputes within the Canadian legal framework.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with at least 6 years in dispute resolution, litigation, or arbitration.
• Proven track record resolving complex disputes and strong civil procedure knowledge.
• Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills with strategic judgment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of legal dispute resolution including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
• Investigate and analyze legal claims and potential liabilities.
• Develop and implement strategies for resolving disputes in the company’s best interests.
• Represent the company in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations with prepared arguments.
• Liaise with external counsel, witnesses, and authorities throughout the process.
• Advise business units on risk mitigation to prevent future disputes.

This role focuses on managing and resolving a variety of legal disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation. You will be responsible for assessing claims, developing resolution strategies, representing the company in proceedings, and ensuring favorable outcomes while managing costs and risks. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong advocacy skills and a proven ability to navigate complex legal challenges effectively within the Northern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of legal dispute resolution, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
• Conduct thorough investigations and analysis of legal claims and potential liabilities.
• Develop and implement effective strategies for resolving disputes in the best interest of the company.
• Represent the company in court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations, preparing legal arguments and evidence.
• Liaise with external legal counsel, witnesses, and relevant authorities throughout the dispute resolution process.
• Advise business units on risk mitigation strategies to prevent future disputes.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney with a minimum of 6 years of experience specializing in dispute resolution, litigation, or arbitration.
• Proven track record of successfully resolving complex legal disputes.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure, evidence, and relevant substantive law.
• Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex situations, develop strategic solutions, and make sound judgments.
• Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods is highly advantageous.
