Job summary

Viking Fire Protection Inc. in Ottawa is seeking a Dispatcher for the Inspection & Services Division to coordinate service operations, support field technicians, and deliver an outstanding customer experience.

You will answer calls, schedule and dispatch service calls, plan workloads and inspection visits, provide administrative support, create work orders, and promote Viking's products and services. A relevant certificate or HS diploma and 2+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Administrative certificate or HS diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Strong computer skills and very good knowledge of Windows software.
  • Strong customer service skills; good communication.
  • Be resourceful and have a good work organization.

Dispatcher – Inspection & Services Division

Schedule : 37.5 hours per week

Salary : $26-$34 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Job Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Dispatcher plays a key role in coordinating service operations, supporting field technicians, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Answer customer calls, inquiries, and service requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Schedule and dispatch service calls to technicians based on priorities and availability
  • Plan and coordinate technicians' workloads, inspection visits, and monthly schedules
  • Provide administrative support to field technicians and maintain service-related documentation
  • Create and manage service calls, work orders, and related records;
  • Provide basic technical assistance and direct customer concerns to the appropriate internal resources
  • Monitor service activities to ensure work is completed within established timelines
  • Promote the company’s products and services to existing and prospective customers
Success Factors
  • Administrative certificate from a recognized college or university or High School diploma with equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar position (an asset)
  • Strong computer skills and very good knowledge of Windows software
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Be resourceful and have a good work organization
