Dispatch Manager

Industry: Fuel Distribution

Location: Sainte-Martine

Seeking a talented individual with 7+ years in petrol transportation industry to oversee route planning for the delivery of petroleum products and the effective and efficient management of fleet vehicle maintenance. Also oversee the smooth running of operations related to billing and inventory management, as well as business relations and customer service provided to industrial and commercial clients served by the regional office.

Responsibilities
  • Performs rigorous cost and price control by applying the standards established by head office;
  • Adequately manages inventories and informs their superior of any anomalies;
  • Ensures the management and maintenance of the vehicle fleet and monitors costs;
  • Ensures compliance with transport-related laws and ensures the application of rules and standards;
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety program issued by head office;
  • Enforces safety rules for all employees in their sector;
  • Ensures that transport operation results meet the needs of the clientele served;
  • Participates in interventions during exceptional situations: considers the situation, identifies the required resources, evaluates scenarios and potential problems, takes action, evaluates the results, and completes required reports;
  • Ensures that drivers complete defect or accident reports;
  • Performs optimal management of hours worked, driving hours, and hours recorded in the logbook using available tools.
  • Ensures that credit policies are respected;
  • Ensures that customer information requests are answered promptly and adequately;
  • Evaluates customer satisfaction and makes necessary corrections.
Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of road transport regulations;
  • Good knowledge of reading and interpreting road maps;
  • Very good knowledge of regulations governing the transport of dangerous goods;
  • Very good knowledge of petroleum products and/or lubricants;
  • Good knowledge of WHMIS rules;
  • Good knowledge of CPPI standards;
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management techniques;
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics;
  • Good knowledge of the French language (spoken and written);
