Qualifications

  • 2nd- to 3rd-year apprentice, registered with AIT.
  • Works well under pressure and adaptable to changes.
  • Able to follow instructions and work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Review work order items and verify parts before vehicle assignments.
  • Fully dismantle damaged vehicles for hidden damage identification.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock inventory in the shop.

Skills

Education

Job description

The Auto Body Apprentice / Dismantle Technician increases the efficiency of the store by completing small repairs and by assisting Licensed Technicians. Minor shop maintenance is a required part of this position.

Accountability & Responsibility of Position:

Receiving vehicle/Validation of Parts:
  • When a vehicle is assigned, review the work order line items and parts to be replaced, with the repair planner.
  • Fully dismantle the complete vehicle damaged area including the blend panel parts in order to identify hidden damage.
  • Upon completion of repair return unnecessary parts to the parts coordinator.
  • All work must be checked and verified by the Production Manager.
  • On the Computer verify the quality checklist and move the vehicle to the next stage.
  • Clean and sweep production stall. Position your next vehicle in the appropriate stall and restart process.
  • Complete minor maintenance to shop as directed by Store Manager.
  • Stock all Inventory received.

Experience/Skill requirements:
  • Knowledge of Mitchell/Audatex/Reynolds.
  • 2nd- to 3rd-year apprentice (registered with AIT).
  • Work independently without close supervision.
  • Works well with others & a positive work ethic.
  • Flexible/adaptable to constant change.
  • Highly organized; ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and plan work under own initiative.
  • Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
  • Motivated and follows instructions.
  • Works well under pressure.
