Job summary

Sienna Senior Living – Aspira Kensington Place in North York, Ontario – is seeking a Dishwasher. You will help maintain residents’ health by keeping dishes, kitchen equipment and work areas clean, safe and sanitary at all times.

In a fast-paced team, you’ll support kitchen operations, receive deliveries, follow sanitation procedures, and help keep the dining environment welcoming for residents. Qualifications include Grade 10, Smart Serve, one year of dining room service, strong English skills,

Qualifications

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Smart Serve designation and one year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills and strong command of English language.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
• Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check required.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness including mopping floors and work areas.
• Receive, uncrate and put away supplier deliveries as required.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Dishwasher, you will help maintain residents’ health and well-being by ensuring dishes, kitchen equipment, and work areas are clean, safe, and sanitary at all times. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit?

• Cleaning dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures
• Ensuring correct usage of chemicals in dish machine and pot-washing areas, i.e. uses 3-sink method for pot washing
• Cleaning kitchen, including mopping entire floor
• Assuming cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules
• Receiving, uncrating, and putting away supplier deliveries as required
• Alerting team leader to problems and makes recommendations about corrective action
• Performing other duties as assigned

What you need to know:

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Smart Serve designation and one year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
• Safe Food Handling Certification is preferred
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
