Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Dishwasher for Aspira Waterford Kingston Retirement Living in Kingston, Ontario. This permanent part-time role operates on a bi-weekly rotation with evening shifts across a two-week schedule.

Rate of pay is $17.60/hour. You will help maintain dishes, kitchen equipment and work areas clean and sanitary, supporting residents and a strong team culture.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 minimum education is required.
• Smart Serve designation and 1 year of dining room service experience.
• Proven customer service skills and excellent command of English (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safe Food Handling Certification is preferred.
• All applicants must pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Sienna Senior Living may use AI to screen applicants.

What you’ll be doing:

As a Dishwasher, you will help maintain residents’ health and well-being by ensuring dishes, kitchen equipment, and work areas are clean, safe, and sanitary at all times. As an individual and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.

What makes you a great fit?

• Cleaning dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures
• Ensuring correct usage of chemicals in dish machine and pot-washing areas, i.e. uses 3-sink method for pot washing
• Cleaning kitchen, including mopping entire floor
• Assuming cleaning tasks as per site cleaning schedules
• Receiving, uncrating, and putting away supplier deliveries as required
• Alerting team leader to problems and makes recommendations about corrective action
• Performing other duties as assigned

What you need to know:

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Smart Serve designation and one year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
• Safe Food Handling Certification is preferred
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
