Job summary

Aspira Hygate Waterloo Retirement Living in Waterloo, ON is seeking a Casual Part-Time Dishwasher to support daily dining services and resident wellbeing. In this role you will maintain kitchen cleanliness, operate dishwashing equipment safely, and follow sanitation procedures while respecting residents and team dynamics.

Shifts are 3:00pm–8:00pm on Sundays and Fridays with alternating days as scheduled. Requirements include Grade 10, Smart Serve, 1 year in dining service, strong English

Qualifications

• Grade 10 minimum education required.
• Must have Smart Serve designation and one year experience in dining room service.
• Proven customer service skills and excellent command of verbal and written English language
• Ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team
• Safe Food Handling Certification is preferred
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
• You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery following established sanitation procedures
• Ensure correct usage of chemicals in dish machine and pot-washing areas
• Clean kitchen, including mopping entire floor
• Perform cleaning tasks as per site schedules
• Receive, uncrate, and put away supplier deliveries
• Alert team leader to problems and make recommendations about corrective action
• Perform other duties as assigned
