Job summary

Mississaugua Golf and Country Club (MGCC) is seeking a Full-time or Part-time seasonal Dishwasher to join a dynamic kitchen team in Mississauga, ON. You will perform cleaning and dishwashing duties in a busy, clean and professional kitchen and support cooks with prep work as required.

Candidates should have experience in a fast-paced kitchen, be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate in English.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Clean dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Restock dishes, glassware and utensils in proper locations.
• Perform general cleaning including sweeping and mopping the kitchen floors.
• Operate cleaning machines following safety guidelines.
• Assist cooks with prep work as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and hood/ventilation systems.
• Clean unseen areas behind shelves and equipment at least monthly.
• Follow Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Keep work areas tidy, sanitary and organized.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is seeking a Full-time or Part-time seasonal Dishwasher to join our dynamic and fun team. The Dishwasher will be responsible for performing cleaning and dishwashing duties in a busy, clean and professional kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans are cleaned effectively and efficiently using dishwashers or by hand
• Restock all dishes, glassware, utensils, pots/pans in the appropriate locations
• Perform general cleaning duties, including carrying out the garbage and recyclables, sweeping and mopping floors (of the entire kitchen, including inside fridges)
• Operate cleaning machines according to company and manufacturer settings/specifications
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and machines
• Ensure all kitchen equipment (steam tables, flat tops etc) is properly cleaned
• Clean the hood and ventilation system on a regular basis
• Assist cooks with prep work as required
• Clean unseen areas at least once a month (behind and under shelves/equipment)
• Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Ensure the work area is always kept clean, neat, and sanitary
• Complete other duties as requested
  

Skills & Requirements

• Experience in a fast-paced kitchen is an asset
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and carry up to 50lbs and work in a hot environment
• Organized with a strong focus and commitment to quality
• Teamwork and cooperation to assist others in getting the job done
• Must have an understanding of written and spoken English
• Hardworking and reliable
• Shift work hours – days and afternoons on weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
