Job summary

InnVest Hotels in London, Ontario, is seeking a dedicated kitchen porter to join our busy dishwashing team. You will wash and sanitize dishes, keep the area clean, and assist with basic prep and delivery receiving as needed.

This role requires reliability, the ability to lift up to 23 kg, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced environment; training on food safety and equipment is provided.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience is an asset but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using commercial dishwashing equipment.
• Ensure all kitchen items are cleaned and stored in their designated areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors, including storage and preparation areas.
• Remove garbage, recycling, and compost and transport it to designated disposal areas.
• Assist with receiving and storing deliveries as required.
• Maintain adequate supplies of cleaning products and notify supervisors when inventory is low.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures.
• Support kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks as assigned.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management immediately.
• Assist with banquet and event breakdowns, ensuring all service ware is promptly cleaned and returned to inventory.
