City Experiences is seeking a Dishwasher for our City Cruises operation in Gananoque.

About The Opportunity

The Dishwasher aids the team in the prompt & efficient cleaning of all dishware, cooking utensils, and equipment. Crew members will assist in food preparation and kitchen production by receiving, storing, and organizing provisions. They should be hospitable, courteous, act safely and responsibly, and be knowledgeable about the vessel schedule, the 1000 Islands, and amenities. The successful candidate will contribute to the guest experience through exceptional food & beverage care, respect for supervisors' decisions, positive peer relationships, and swift task execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent hospitality as per the RESPECT Service System.
  • Report on time for scheduled shifts, manage clocking in/out and breaks properly.
  • Follow all policies and procedures related to the role.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in uniform.
  • Operate dish machines, ensuring dishes are cleaned, dried, and stored properly.
  • Ensure dish machine functionality, clean equipment, and refill chemicals as needed.
  • Test and document dish machine temperature and sanitizer pH daily.
  • Assist with cleaning fryers and range hood vents weekly.
  • Help front of house with dish bin collection, garbage removal, and bussing trolley maintenance.
  • Remove cardboard, recyclables, and garbage promptly.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in kitchen and service areas, including sweeping, scrubbing, and cleaning.
  • Stock supplies like chemicals, paper towels, and trash accessories.
  • Receive and store food and supplies following proper handling and rotation.
  • Assist in routine kitchen cleaning, equipment sanitizing, and checklist completion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • O.S.S.D. or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-directed personality.
  • Willing to be closely supervised, learn, and share best practices.
  • Strong communication skills; knowledge of additional languages is an asset.
  • Ability to understand and convey information effectively.
  • Service-oriented attitude, proactive in helping others.
  • Ability to work in warm environments, lift heavy items, and work extended hours including weekends and holidays.
  • Must wear non-slip footwear and PPE as required.
