Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to join our Dining Services team. You will ensure a clean, safe kitchen and support residents by maintaining high sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include washing dishes by hand or in an industrial dishwasher, keeping areas tidy, and assisting with receiving and storing food supplies. Prior kitchen experience and a Food Handler certificate are preferred, but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Secondary school education or equivalent.
• Food Handler certification (training provided if needed).
• Previous dishwashing or kitchen experience, preferably in a retirement residence or hospitality setting.
• Teamwork skills and good communication to interact with colleagues and residents.
• Customer-focused mindset and commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient work environment.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment while standing for extended periods
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, bend, push, and pull
• Manual dexterity to handle tools and kitchen equipment safely
• Willingness to wear personal protective equipment and follow all safety procedures
• Clear Criminal Background Check, VSS and TB Test where required
