Job summary

Ordre des dentistes du Québec seeks a Prosecuting Attorney to join its Syndic's Office in Montreal. The role focuses on disciplinary and administrative litigation, providing strategic advocacy before tribunals and disciplinary bodies.

The successful candidate will assist the syndic team through all stages of disciplinary proceedings, handle matters related to illegal practice and title misuse, and advise on ethical issues while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Member in good standing of the Québec Bar.
Minimum 7 years of relevant litigation and advocacy experience.
Experience before administrative bodies or courts of law.
Knowledge of disciplinary law is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

Assist the syndic and assistant syndics with disciplinary matters.
Represent the Order before disciplinary councils, the Professions Tribunal, Superior Court and other relevant bodies.
Handle matters involving illegal practice and title misuse.
Conduct case law and doctrinal research relating to disciplinary and ethical matters.
Participate in drafting legal opinions, submissions, regulations and strategic documents.
Advise internal stakeholders on professional practice and ethical matters.
Advise the syndic regarding the application of access to information legislation.
Participate in negotiations and settlements of disciplinary matters.
Maintain and update jurisprudential and legal reference tools.
Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders.
