Job summary
The Salvation Army is seeking an Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) Specialist to coordinate 24/7 response activities across the BC Division and to deliver preparedness training for personnel and volunteers. You will provide compassionate emotional and spiritual care to clients and connect them with community resources.
You will also facilitate access to immediate emergency assistance, maintain readiness of response assets, and contribute to regional strategy development and program
Qualifications
- Formal post-secondary program of two academic years in disaster and emergency management.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
- Undergraduate degree is asset.
- Diploma or certificate in disaster and emergency management is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate 24/7 Emergency Disaster Services response activities across the BC Division.
- Deliver training programs to enhance preparedness and capability of EDS personnel and volunteers.
- Provide emotional, spiritual, and pastoral care to clients and connect them with supports.
- Facilitate access to immediate emergency assistance (food, water, clothing, relief supplies).
- Maintain readiness of EDS vehicles, equipment, and response assets.
