Job summary

CORE Support Services is seeking Psychologists to support DSP participants in the Western Region of Nova Scotia. The role involves delivering specialized psychological services to adults with various disabilities and mental health needs, with travel across the Western Region and potential on-site onboarding in the Annapolis Valley.

The position supports a flexible schedule (.8 FTE) with the option for remote work within the region.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Psychology from an accredited university.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP).
  • Experience in assessment and treatment of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, dual diagnosis (IDD + mental illness), autism, emotional issues, and/or behaviors of concern.
  • Commitment to inclusion for people with disabilities and to person-directed planning.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate psychological interventions.
  • Collaborate with participants, families, DSP-funded providers, and interdisciplinary team.
  • Uphold ethical, trauma-informed practice and rights and dignity of individuals with disabilities.
  • Travel within the Western Region and participate in onboarding in Annapolis Valley as needed.
