Job summary

New Frontiers School Board is seeking an Attendant for Handicapped Students for on-call replacements. The role focuses on assisting handicapped students with activities, mobility, personal care and safety in a school setting.

Responsibilities include supervising students, aiding with meals, and supporting teachers with individualized education plans, in a bilingual environment. Experience with special needs and teamwork is valued.

Qualifications

• Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in assistance to patients or residents in health care establishments or equivalent.
• Secondary V School Diploma or an equivalent credential with one year of related experience.
• Bilingual (English/French) as required by the board.

Responsibilities

• Assist handicapped students in participating in school activities.
• Support student mobility, personal hygiene, safety and well-being.
• Supervise during recess, meals, naptime and recreation; accompany to pool.
