As a key member of our IT team, the Director, Technology Services and Security, will oversee key horizontal technology services including vendor management, security, and IT operations. Reporting to the CISO/Vice President, Cyber and Information Security, the director will lead a team of security and operations professionals aligned with business and technology strategies. They will also set, monitor, and maintain standards around vendors and ensure comprehensive vendor management practices.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Research and stay informed on IT security practices, services, and solutions to counter evolving threats.
  2. Evaluate the cybersecurity landscape against IMCO’s threat scenarios and update the cybersecurity program as needed.
  3. Own the planning of IT security and overall IMCO security programs.
  4. Manage vendors across the IT security ecosystem, from application security to training and perimeter defenses.
  5. Serve as the first point of consultation for strategic projects, application development, and infrastructure needs, with a focus on IT & security.
  6. Act as the primary contact for operational issues with cloud and cyber managed service providers, including governance, MSAs, SOWs, and contractual issues, while driving value across the firm.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to implement technical solutions effectively.
  8. Manage ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release Management) ensuring high performance, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement.
  9. Implement and monitor service delivery frameworks, policies, and procedures, addressing escalations and driving resolution.
  10. Champion service support in projects, understanding project impacts on services, and minimizing disruptions.
  11. Conduct service review meetings to evaluate performance, identify improvements, and ensure quality.
  12. Analyze IT service performance, identify issues, and develop solutions to enhance quality and prevent problems.
  13. Coordinate with internal and third-party teams to ensure services are protected and improved, ensuring seamless operations.
  14. Act as an IT ambassador, communicating effectively across the business and building interdepartmental relationships.
  15. Maintain documentation for projects, change controls, and governance.
  16. Ensure technical and business process documentation is current and properly stored.
  17. Track vendor agreements, monitor vendor performance against SLAs, and promote continuous improvement.
  18. Qualifications for success:

  • 12-15+ years in progressive IT roles, with 5-7+ years leading teams.
  • Experience in investment management is an asset.
  • Undergraduate degree and/or relevant security certifications are assets.
  • Experience creating and monitoring vendor management KPIs.
  • Proven ability in vendor onboarding and assessment.
  • Strong legal and business judgment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
