The Director, Surgery Health Services plays a pivotal leadership role in advancing one of Michael Garron Hospital’s largest and most dynamic clinical programs. Reporting to the Chief, Acute Care Programs and working in close collaboration with the Co-Medical Directors, the Director provides strategic and operational leadership for a comprehensive Urban Community Hospital Surgical Program that includes 17 Operating Rooms, inpatient surgical services, multiple procedural areas, ambulatory orthopedics, medical device processing and an off-site surgical centre. As a key steward of clinical excellence, the Director is accountable for the clinical, technical, educational, human resource, and financial performance of the Surgery Health Service. Guided byMGH’s mission, vision, values and strategic priorities, the Director drives high-quality patient care, optimizes service delivery and access, and ensures seamless integration across the continuum of perioperative and surgical services. The Director leads continuous quality improvement, advances system redesign and fosters an environment where innovation, engagement and collaboration enable exceptional patient outcomes and operational performance.
