Job summary

Brookfield Internal Audit in Toronto is seeking a Director to lead the ICFR program and oversee the end-to-end internal controls framework across Brookfield Asset Management. You will guide a team of audit professionals and collaborate with senior leaders to assess risks, improve controls, and drive assurance across diverse businesses.

This role requires 8+ years in audit, strong knowledge of SOX, US GAAP, and a proven record of mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in audit, internal controls, accounting or financial reporting; CPA and Big 4 experience assets.
• Experience with US-listed entities that have SOX programs; familiarity with US GAAP is a plus.
• Experience leading teams and developing junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end execution of the ICFR program to comply with SOX by identifying processes and documenting controls.
• Lead annual risk assessment and financial statement scoping.
• Oversee testing to evaluate design, implementation, and operating effectiveness.
• Collaborate with control owners to investigate gaps and provide remediation guidance.
• Report testing status and remediation progress to IA and Finance leadership.
• Mentor junior staff and oversee outsourced service providers.
