Job summary

RBC in Toronto is seeking a Director of Project Management & Business Analysis to lead Global Security’s strategic programs. You will manage end-to-end projects, drive governance, and deliver value through productivity tracking and in-depth business analysis.

You will interact with senior executives, influence across a matrixed organization, and mentor project teams while shaping change across the bank. This leadership role requires strong strategic thinking and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in program and project management, including leadership of complex initiatives.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, or ability to lead teams on complex projects.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and project management tools.
• Self-driven individual with the ability to influence horizontally and partner with key stakeholders.
• Critical thinking and strong analytical/problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to present to and influence senior executives.
• Strong presentation and leadership skills to communicate complex information to stakeholders.
• Strong organizational, project management, and time management capabilities; manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects end-to-end from initiation through post-implementation review within timeframes, scope, and budgets.
• Oversee delivery of strategic projects with plans, schedules, processes and execution, tracking milestones, risks, and dependencies.
• Develop risk-mitigation strategies to ensure project closure and issue remediation.
• Translate business needs into actionable program strategies and executive narratives.
• Identify and mitigate high-impact issues using business acumen.
• Develop productivity case studies and track efficiencies against targets.
• Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders across functions, technology, and leadership.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with Global Security Strategic Services & Regulatory and other pillars.

What will you do?

• Program & Project Management: Lead projects end-to-end from initiation through post-implementation review, ensuring delivery within approved timeframes, scope, and budgets
• Oversee the delivery of one or more strategic projects, managing project plans, schedules, processes and execution, tracking key milestones, risks, and dependencies
• Facilitate decision-making and develop risk-mitigation strategies to ensure successful project closure and remediation of issues
• Business Analysis & Productivity Tracking: Translate business needs into actionable program strategies and executive-level narratives
• Apply business acumen to identify and mitigate high-impact issues and complexities
• Develop methodologies on productivity used cases, and track efficiencies and savings in line with business targets
• Stakeholder Leadership & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders across business functions, technology, operations, and leadership
• Partner with Global Security Strategic Services & Regulatory, and other GS pillar teams to understand priorities to identify and lead projects across the teams
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior executives and their delegates
• Influence horizontally across the organization, managing diverse, matrixed stakeholder groups
• Provide executive-level guidance and coaching to program and project teams on best practice

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, MBA, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
• 10+ years of experience in program and project management, including leadership of complex initiatives
• 5+ years of people leadership experience, or able to demonstrate ability to manage teams and lead complex projects
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and project management tools
• Self-driven individual contributor with ability to influence horizontally and partner effectively with key stakeholders
• Critical thinking and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to present to and influence senior executive audiences
• Strong presentation and leadership skills to communicate complex information to key stakeholders
• Strong organizational, project management, and time management capabilities; ability to meet consistently high-quality standards with simultaneous workstreams
• Experience working in matrixed environments, actively managing diverse groups of stakeholders

Nice to have:

• PMP, CSM, CFA, or equivalent project management/finance certification
• Demonstrated expertise in agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and tools (JIRA,Confluence, project management software)
• Experience in technology and financial services organizations with cross-border operations
• Proven track record of implementing change management initiatives
• Experience building networks and maintaining key relationships across organizational boundaries
• Desire to learn and develop in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
