Job summary

StarTech.com Ltd. is seeking a strategic Director of Product Development to lead the end-to-end lifecycle for a global portfolio from concept through launch and sustainment.

The role focuses on improving time-to-market, product quality, and regulatory compliance while aligning execution with evolving business priorities. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of leadership experience in product development or engineering.
  • Strong end-to-end product development lifecycle management expertise.
  • Proven regulatory compliance, testing, and quality standards experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-year product roadmap and NPI lifecycle from concept to launch.
  • Oversee verification, validation, and regulatory compliance testing and certifications.
  • Manage sustaining engineering changes to optimize cost, performance and lifecycle.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Sourcing, QA and Executives.
  • Develop and mentor teams across product development and verification, including budget management.
  • Provide top-level customer support and timely resolution of critical issues.
  • Establish scalable processes to improve time-to-market, quality and efficiency.
  • Drive data-informed decisions using analytics and AI tools.
  • Engage with end customers to translate insights into product improvements.
  • Track KPIs related to NPI execution, product success, and lifecycle performance.

Description

This is a newly createdstrategic leadership opportunity focused on leading the end-to-end product development lifecycleacross a global portfolio. The Director, ProductDevelopment,willplay a pivotal role inimproving time-to-market,strengthening product quality,and ensuringregulatorycompliancewhile aligning execution with evolving business priorities.

Reporting to the VP, Product Development, this leader will translate strategy into action—partnering cross-functionally with Product, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Quality Assurance to deliver high-impact outcomes. The role requires strong operational leadership, cross-functional influence, and the ability to build scalable processes that support growth and innovation.

What you willbe responsible for:
  • Lead and executethemulti-yearproduct roadmap andNew Product Introduction (NPI)lifecycle from concept through launch and sustainment.
  • Oversee product verification, validation, and regulatory compliance, including testing, certifications, and adherence to quality standards
  • Managesustaining engineeringactivities includingproduct changes (PCNs/ECOs) tooptimizecost,product performance,andproduct lifecycle management
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain,Sourcing,QA, and Executive Leadership to deliver on roadmap commitments.
  • Manage and develop teams across product development and product verification, includingresource planning andbudgetmanagement
  • Provide top level customer support andensure timelyresolutionof critical issues
  • Establishscalable processestoimprove time-to-market, product quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive data-informed decision-making,leveraginganalytics and AI tools toidentifyopportunities and solve complex product challenges.
  • Engage periodically with end customers to understand pain points and translate insights into product improvements.
  • Establish and track KPIs related to NPI execution, product success, quality, and lifecycle performance.
Essential Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in product developmentand/or engineering environment.
  • Strongexpertisein end-to-end product development lifecycle management withinIThardware,electronicsor hardware/firmwareenvironments.
  • Proven experience with regulatory compliance, product testing, and quality standards.
  • Strong data analytics capabilities and experienceleveragingAI tools for decision-making
  • Deep understanding of IT hardware, electronics manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at the executive level.
  • Experience managing complex global supply chains and vendor relationships.
  • Strongtrack recordof improving time-to-market, product quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Exposure to global regulatory frameworks and compliance environments.
  • Business acumen including business case development and commercial decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PLM systems, PIM tools, and product verification/testing platforms.
