The Director, Procurement will report to the Sr. Vice President, Corporate Procurement, J. D. Irving, Limited. You will support our diverse business operations and internal customers.
Qualifications
- Post graduate degree
- Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation would be considered an asset
- Significant procurement leadership experience and expertise with large organizations – a minimum of 10 years’ experience required in planning, implementing & managing procurement strategy in a large organization
- Experience in contract management administration. A strong understanding of legal principles and contract clauses would be considered an asset
- Proven track record of identifying, attracting and developing talent
- Technologically savvy – current on latest technology developments
- Strong demonstrated experience working with a variety of internal stakeholders to solve operational issues with suppliers, systems and contracts
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- ERP/MRP systems experience – JD Edwards Experience is an asset
- Bilingualism (English & French languages) is an asset
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction, leadership and support related to contracts, logistics, warehouse and other operational procurement objectives
- Design, introduce and lead the implementation of key tools, systems and processes to improve procurement performance
- Develop, implement, and champion best-in-class contract management lifecycle processes to improve organizational efficiency and reduce risk
- Develop and lead strategic sourcing projects and project governance – development of strategic sourcing framework & processes
- Lead the effectiveness and consistency of the procurement process ensuring standardization and compliance
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders of the Company’s Operating Divisions
- Lead, build and develop a team of contract, logistics, and analytical professionals
