Job summary

FCC seeks a Director, Portfolio Management and Operations in Canada to shape FCC’s portfolio management strategy and lead strategic initiatives. You’ll report to the Managing Director, FCC Capital, and guide processes across valuation, reporting, and investment approvals.

You’ll oversee a small team, build strong relationships, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to align planning with the capital solutions and value creation strategy. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration or commerce.
  • At least seven years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Knowledge of financial institutions and how they operate, manage risk and invest decisions.
  • Knowledge of private real asset investing, including security selection and asset allocation.
  • Strong judgment, strategic and conceptual thinking, collaboration and influence.
  • Experience building and managing strategic relationships.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French).

Responsibilities

  • Manage FCC Capital processes, policies, documentation and reporting, including valuation, investment approval, business planning, reputational risk, accounting, reporting and committee-related materials.
  • Develop reporting strategies, configure new reporting and dashboards, and prepare monthly, ad hoc, quarterly and annual reports for senior leadership, management and the Board.
  • Lead the FCC Capital business plan, including short-, medium- and long-term objectives, measurable key performance indicators and value-add objectives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, FCC middle- and back-office teams and investment professionals to support deal activity, execution and strategy development.
  • Provide analysis, oversight, support and information sharing for pipeline and portfolio management, deal support and operations, including forecasting, capital calls, legal documentation reviews and funding coordination.
  • Oversee a small team, including daily supervision, performance and development.

How You’ll Make An Impact

Leverage your expertise in investment portfolio management, business planning, financial analysis and relationship-building to help shape FCC’s portfolio management strategy, processes, policies, reporting and business plans. As Director, Portfolio Management and Operations, you’ll report to the Managing Director, FCC Capital, and act as a hub for the FCC Capital division by providing professional advice, support and information for decision-making while leading strategic initiatives and divisional projects. Your strong judgment, strategic thinking, collaboration and influence will enable you to align planning and implementation with FCC’s broader capital solutions and value creation strategy. What You’ll Do

Required Qualifications
What you’ll bring to the team

  • Knowledge of private real asset investing, including security selection and asset allocation, with experience across acquisition, asset management and divestment
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills, strategic and conceptual thinking, collaboration and influence
  • Experience building and managing strategic relationships

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of agriculture industry trends, risk mitigation and financial analysis techniques, accounting principles, and lending policies and procedures

  • Experience implementing deal management, portfolio management of client relationship management solutions
  • Experience managing and developing a small team
