What You'll Be Doing

As part of CIBC’s Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) team, the Director, RESL Product Management, Regulatory Programs plays a key leadership role in shaping the policy, governance, and strategic direction of RESL products across multiple business lines. In this role, you’ll lead the development, maintenance, and evolution of product policy and governance practices while contributing to broader portfolio priorities. You’ll use strong strategic judgment to navigate complex business challenges and balance regulatory compliance, risk discipline, client outcomes, and growth objectives. Working with partners across the bank, you’ll drive alignment, influence decision‑making, and advance high‑impact regulatory and product initiatives. You’ll translate complex business and regulatory information into clear insights and recommendations for senior leaders and executives. You’ll also help strengthen a high‑performing team environment grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Strategy and planning - Partner with the Senior Director and business leaders to shape the long-term strategy for the RESL product portfolio. Identify opportunities through analysis, market awareness, and business insight, and turn them into practical strategies that strengthen competitiveness, support growth, improve efficiency, and manage risk.
  • Policy development and regulatory alignment - Lead the development, maintenance, and evolution of RESL product policies and governance practices to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, internal risk appetite, business objectives, and regulator expectations. Assess, design, and implement policy changes by considering business impact, operational feasibility, client outcomes, and regulatory implications.
  • Executive advice and decision support - Provide clear, credible, and well-supported recommendations to management and executive audiences. Translate complex issues into actionable insights that support sound decision‑making, effective execution, and strong policy alignment across the business.
  • Relationship management and influence - Build trusted relationships across a broad network of partners and use influence to align stakeholders on complex and competing priorities. Foster constructive challenge, strong partnership, and informed decision‑making across business, risk, and functional teams.
  • Collaboration and team effectiveness - Contribute to a high-performing environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Help clarify priorities, remove barriers to execution, build capability across the partner network, and champion CIBC’s mission, vision, and values.
