Position Summary...

The Director of Digital Product content is the leader for product and sku level content at Walmart Canada. Through their team, they are managing all vendor onboarding, digital content collection, style guidelines, content creation, 3rd party catalogues, studio partnerships, ratings & reviews for Walmart.ca. A critical member of the Walmart.ca digital experience leadership team that contributes greatly to the overall success of the customer experiences and sales across all channels.

What you'll do...

  • Overall ownership for content generation for digital/OMNI product content at Walmart Canada.
  • Accountable for managing and improving Walmart Canada’s Product Information Management system (STEP today, GOI tomorrow). Ensure best practices for content standards, taxonomy, attributes are utilized within the PIM, and that all users within the business are aware of such. Provide direction on PIM updates, changes to ensure systems and processes are always aligned.
  • Ensure functionality and integration of vendor/merchant portal (item upload) and make adjustments and improvements where needed.Develop roadmap with product team to maximize overall spend and productivity.
  • Drive product onboarding efficiencies in the organization, working with vendors to collect content for the overall sku content on the site, including marketplace.
  • Build, evolve and maintain Category “Digital Content style guides”: work with the site Merchandising, Merchandising, and SEO teams to define the content style guide specific to each category of the catalogue. Ensure vendors and sellers adhere to the category style guides, so as to appropriately communicate product info/details, key product messages, content format. Lead governance process for changes to maximize customer experience.
  • LeadContent Studio Partnerships (CSP) programs, and sub-contracted data maintenance team (TCS, based in India): responsible to maintain and evolve Content Studio Partnership (CSP) Programs across the business units, to support item content creation (photography, copy writing and translation, including portal and connections with third parties to ingest content). The CSP programs will have to align with the business SKU growth plans, timelines and seasonality, as well as quality and cost targets.
  • Drive User Generated Content (UGC) programs:
  • Manage 3rd party ratings and reviews vendor(s) to build on existing strategies to increase syndicated reviews/content, native review/content, and connections to drive customer engagement and increase conversion.
  • Provide both short term and long-term strategies to develop UGC coverage (adding new 3rd party content providers, optimizing syndication, or seeding reviews via sampling programs) on the platform to drive customer engagement and increased conversion.
  • Partner with Licensed and Rich Content 3rd party catalogues: develop partnerships with licensed/Rich Content providers.
  • Build long term content strategy looking for leverage points globally. Ensure the program is built to deliver the lowest cost operations in the market while provide value to consumers and vendor partners.
  • Partner with Merchandising leaders to allocate resources across the organization by participating in regular prioritization meetings and other cross-functional projects.
  • Train and mentor team to maximize productivity and job satisfaction. Responsible for coaching, Independent development plans, and performance reviews for a large multi-level team.
