Your Opportunity
The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) at Temerty Medicine is the largest academic department of family medicine in the world, and home to the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre in Family Medicine and Primary Care. With over 2200 faculty members and hundreds of learners as well as a staff complement of 55, DFCM is a powerhouse department helping to chart the future of primary care, from office-based family practice to emergency medicine, palliative care, care of the elderly, mental health, Indigenous health and more.
As Director, Planning and Operations, you will have a dual reporting relationship to the Office of the CAO, for oversight of administrative planning and operations, and a functional reporting relationship to the Chair, DFCM, for strategic academic and research priorities. You will provide leadership and oversight across the DFCM portfolio through the effective management of all administrative functions, including finance (including operating funds and research accounts), human resources, project management, and space management.
You will navigate and influence a large and diverse group of stakeholders, including faculty members, staff, senior leadership, and external partners, to build consensus and mobilize support for major initiatives. Your record of building and mentoring high-performing teams, and your proven ability to navigate and influence within complex organizational structures will help us advance our priorities and support and promote our academic mission.
