The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) has an opportunity for a seasoned People and Culture professional seeking a long-term contract. The Director of People and Culture is an 18-month term position covering a parental leave between approximately May 2025 and October 2026.
The Director, People and Culture is responsible for planning and developing a wide range of human resources programs and initiatives and overseeing talent management programs and services for the organization including organizational development, employee and labour relations, recruitment and retention, performance management, total compensation, and benefits and disability management.
As a key leader in the People and Culture team, as well as the broader Senior Leadership Committee at JIBC, the Director, People and Culture contributes to strategic initiatives across the organization.

Fair Comparison/Excluded: We offer a total compensation package that includes a benefit plan, which includes Extended Health and Dental Benefits after three months, and enrollment in the College Pension Plan upon hire. In addition, we offer 20 vacation days and 10 Personal Days annually (pro-rated in first year), as well as generous other leave entitlements.
$138,740 - $163,225 annually – Fair Comparison Excluded Compensation Salary. The Compensation Range shown reflects JIBC's range for the role: between 85% and 100% of the sector range control point. In the normal course, employees will be hired, transferred, or promoted between 85% - 94% of the control point, based on the knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the role, with exceptions in the 95% - 100% range.
