Job summary

SSENSE, a Montreal-based global technology platform, seeks a Director of Software Development to lead engineering for the end-to-end customer journey across Web, Mobile, and platform channels. You will execute the technical roadmap, drive scalable architectures, and partner with product, data, and business leaders to elevate delivery velocity and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; a Master's degree is an asset.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years leading engineering managers or team leads.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale technology programs (e.g., platform migrations, replatforming, or payment systems).
• Experience leading engineering across Web, Mobile, and Platform domains in a high-growth consumer digital or e-commerce environment.
• Demonstrated experience designing complex, multi-service enterprise systems and managing technical debt with advanced security controls.

Responsibilities

• Drive Engineering Strategy & Roadmap across Web, Mobile, and Platform domains to align with commercial priorities.
• Deliver core architecture & capabilities including US go-to-market, pricing, payments, coupons, and personalization.
• Establish engineering excellence via standards, architecture principles, and security controls for scale.
• Build, develop, and retain high-performing engineering teams with direct and indirect leadership.
• Optimize capacity and return by partnering with Product, Data, Platform, and business leaders on investments and budget.
