JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Sales and Marketing at WinAir will be responsible for develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives for products and services. This role involves reviewing and approving costing sheets, analyzing sales data to identify growth opportunities, and evaluating deviations from standard procedures. The director will lead and develop the sales and marketing teams, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintaining strong relationships with key customers and industry partners. Additionally, this position will oversee the optimization of the CRM tool (HubSpot), coordinate with various departments for summits, and manage cross-departmental work distribution.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives for products and services.
  • Review and approve costing sheets, requesting changes when necessary.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Evaluate deviations from standard procedures and negotiate approvals as needed.
  • Assess current discount levels and decide on additional requests based on input.
  • Review quotes for grammatical accuracy, completeness, and alignment with costing sheets; approve or request changes.
  • Provide ownership with departmental metrics for review.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements in sales and marketing activities.
  • Review and sign-off on all sales agreements (i.e. NDAs, SLAs).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the sales and marketing teams to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Coordinate with the production and sales teams to plan and attend summits.
  • Review and approve subscription renewals and negotiate if required.
  • Handle new sales, renewals, and add-ons, particularly when clients request better pricing.
  • Implement and optimize CRM (HubSpot) tool to enhance sales processes and customer relationship management.
  • Oversee marketing to develop campaign templates, tradeshow strategies and social marketing (i.e. LinkedIn posts).
  • Plan and attend upcoming tradeshows, ensuring future participation and presence.
  • Oversee interdepartmental work requirements and allocate workload accordingly.
  • Respond to RFPs and evaluate bid responses to determine participation.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Review, create, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.

Experience

At least 10 years of experience in sales and marketing, with a minimum of 5+ years in a senior leadership role and a track record of achieving sales targets and driving growth.

Skills and Aptitudes

  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet company objectives.
  • Proficiency in analyzing sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Thorough review of costing sheets, quotes, and contracts for accuracy and completeness.
  • Capability to negotiate deviations from standard procedures and pricing adjustments.
  • Strong leadership skills to mentor and develop the sales and marketing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of CRM tools, particularly HubSpot.
  • Experience in analyzing sales data and developing strategic sales plans.
  • Excellent understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in sales and marketing.
  • Experience in contract review and negotiations, including NDAs, BDAs, and SLAs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Experience in reviewing, creating, and updating SOPs to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.
  • Experience in planning and attending tradeshows and industry events.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Environment and Physical

Candidate must reside in London, Ontario or surrounding area.

Be able to travel to domestic and global locations for trade shows and / or client visits (background check may be required).

Be able to flex working time frames to accommodate different time zones as needed.

Must be able to work remotely and on-site upon request.

Work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Be able to sit for prolonged periods.
