Job summary

St-Amour & Associates, Senc. is assisting a global leader in custom-engineered projects to recruit a Director of Operations – Production.

This role reports to the Vice President of Operations and oversees all production activities in a manufacturing environment blending standard products with complex projects. You will drive production performance, safety, cost control, and delivery while coordinating priorities with internal teams to meet each project’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production objectives are achieved in terms of quality, cost, delivery, and health and safety.
• Plan, organize, and optimize production activities based on operational priorities.
• Adapt operations to the requirements and realities of custom-engineered projects, in collaboration with internal teams.
• Ensure effective coordination and workflow between production and other departments.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze variances, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Identify optimization opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and operational capacity.
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, 5S, and other operational excellence practices.
• Lead, coach, and develop production teams while fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
• Promote a work environment focused on collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement.

Your Role Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Director of Operations – Production is responsible for overseeing all production activities. You will be responsible for driving operational performance and efficiency within a manufacturing environment that combines standard products with complex custom-engineered projects. You will play a key role in achieving production objectives while ensuring the highest standards of quality, cost control, delivery, and occupational health and safety. Working closely with internal teams, you will also ensure effective coordination of priorities to successfully meet the specific requirements of each project.
