Job summary

Mission Aviation Fellowship Canada seeks an experienced operations leader to oversee programs in Guelph, Ontario. You will mentor directors, manage staffing and budgets, and ensure safety and quality goals are met while supporting our Christian mission.

Qualifications

  • ICAO aviation license or equivalent held/previously held.

Responsibilities

  • Report to VP Operations in Guelph, Ontario and mentor program staff.
  • Oversee development and implementation of program plans and budgets.
  • Manage staffing, risks, and safety/quality goals across programs.
  • Oversee capital/operating budgets and allocate resources.
  • Provide spiritual care and engage with partners and communities.
  • Lead strategic projects and liaise with donors and Philanthropy/Communications.

Job description

  • Report to the VP Operations in the Guelph, Ontario office
  • Act as an operational program ambassador to other MAF Canada departments
  • Mentor program directors and senior operations staff
  • Oversee development and implementation of program Ministry Plans
  • Manage program staffing levels and liaise with People & Culture staff
  • Oversee special projects
  • Participate in the Emergency Response Team when required
  • Provide spiritual care and encouragement to staff and communities
  • Ensure operations are properly resourced to meet safety and quality goals
  • Carry out regular risk reviews and ensure risks are appropriately mitigated
  • Ensure program aircraft, equipment, and facilities are appropriately insured
  • Monitor Canadian technical qualifications of MAFC field staff
  • Oversee capital and operating budgets
  • Approve program expenditures as required
  • Ensure aircraft reserve funds are calculated and managed
  • Calculate and manage required flight subsidy funds
  • Facilitate operational and project funding
  • Administer and facilitate strategic projects
  • Administer aircraft fleet procurement and management
  • Assist with resourcing equipment for programs
  • Assess donations-in-kind of aviation-related equipment or services with Philanthropy and Communications
  • Maintain industry relationships and represent MAFC interests
  • Facilitate board reporting for operations departments
  • Engage significant partners and vendors
  • Facilitate collection and reporting of impact statistics
Requirements
  • Holds or has held an ICAO aviation license
  • Previous experience in operations or maintenance management
  • Holder of a post-secondary degree in aviation or a related technical field
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Good team leader with proven organizational skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Good level of computer skills
  • Use of technical software
  • Alignment with MAF Canada’s Christian mission, values, and beliefs
  • Willingness to provide spiritual care and intentionally share the Gospel of Jesus Christ
