Job summary

Distech Controls is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations to oversee our multi-site manufacturing footprint in the United States, Canada, and France. You will partner with site leaders to remove barriers, align priorities, and foster a culture of continuous improvement that respects regional realities.

You will lead operational excellence, coordinate manufacturing, logistics, and distribution, and translate customer demand into actionable site plans.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Operations.
• 10+ years of managing experience in manufacturing operations.
• Proven experience managing multi-site operations.
• Strong hands-on shop-floor execution and problem-solving.
• Ability to deploy governance models across sites.
• Experience in international, multicultural, matrix environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, quality, delivery, cost, and service objectives across US, Canada, and France.
• Drive continuous improvement as part of daily work through practical ideas and learning.
• Coordinate manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and distribution to meet delivery goals.
• Translate demand and supply plans into site-level priorities and KPIs.

The Director, Manufacturing Operations helps our manufacturing sites in the United States, Canada, and France perform at their best. Working side by side with site leaders, this person connects the teams, removes barriers, shares what works, and creates the conditions for people to improve every day, while respecting the culture and reality of each site.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations and working closely with the Focus Factory Managers, this role turns Operations priorities into practical execution. The Director brings people together, keeps the teams focused on what matters, and supports a culture where ideas are welcomed, problems are addressed openly, and everyone can contribute to better results.

Responsabilities :

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

• Help the United States, Canada, and France sites achieve their safety, quality, delivery, cost, and service objectives
• Make continuous improvement part of how we work every day, not a separate program, by encouraging practical ideas, learning, and shared problem-solving
• Connect the sites so teams can share what works, improve processes, and deliver measurable and sustainable results

Manufacturing, Logistics & Distribution Execution

• Coordinate manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, and distribution execution to support customer delivery and inventory objectives
• Translate the Operations logistics and distribution strategy into practical site-level plans, routines, and performance indicators
• Partner with Supply Chain and site teams to improve material flow, distribution performance, and continuity of supply

End-to-End Flow

• Understand customer requirements through Sales, Customer Experience, IBP, and Supply Chain, and translate them into clear operational priorities
• Connect demand, production, inventory, logistics, and distribution so the sites can deliver the right product at the right time
• Anticipate gaps, coordinate recovery plans, and balance service, inventory, capacity, cost, and operational risk

People Engagement & Cross-Site Leadership

• Coach and support the Focus Factory Managers while keeping accountability and decision-making close to each site
• Spend time with teams, listen to their ideas, recognize contributions, and create an environment where people feel trusted, involved, and proud of their work
• Build one Operations team across different sites and cultures—one that collaborates, challenges itself, celebrates progress, and enjoys working together
• Develop leaders, strengthen succession readiness, and ensure critical knowledge is shared and retained

Strategic Deployment & Governance

• Translate Senior Director priorities into clear multi-site execution plans with owners, milestones, and performance indicators
• Provide consolidated visibility on performance, risks, resource needs, and required decisions
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functions to support timely execution

Profile & Experience

• Operations leader with strong hands-on manufacturing experience and credibility with shop-floor teams
• Proven success supporting multi-site operations and bringing people together across different cultures
• Practical continuous improvement mindset focused on solving real problems and sustaining results
• Approachable and positive leader who listens, communicates openly, and makes it easier for teams to work together
• Able to balance clear expectations and accountability with trust, recognition, and local ownership
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, international environment and able to keep the team focused without losing the human side

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Managing experience in manufacturing operations.
• Proven experience managing multi-site operations
• Strong hands-on expertise in shop-floor execution, industrial performance, and operational problem-solving
• Demonstrated ability to deploy standardized processes and governance models across sites
• Solid experience in industrialization / NPI ramp-up and process robustness
• Continuous improvement experience (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent), applied pragmatically to operations
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of engaging teams and developing operational leaders
• Comfortable leading in an international, multi-site, multicultural, matrix, and cross-functional environment
