You’re an enthusiastic and experienced leader with a comprehensive engineering background who can lead the Materials Handling group within the Worley Consulting business as we continue our growth into new fields and industries.

Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Business Development

  • Coordinate sales efforts with Worley’s inside/outside Sales teams, participate in business development efforts and update calls.
  • Work with discipline leads to identify trends, develop strategies and sales forecasts.
  • Actively engage with internal and external clients to seek out new opportunities and expand existing ones.
  • Prepare or assist in preparing proposals, execution strategies, cost estimating, and project scheduling.
  • Maintain staff profiles and resumes, track existing capabilities and strategically address future customer capability requirements.
  • Encourage positive working relationships with external parties such as customers, suppliers, and contractors.

Business Operations

  • Assist in recruiting, coaching, and performance management of the team.
  • Attend project coordination meetings and liaise with project team members, clients, sub-consultants, contractors, and regulatory and environmental approval agencies.
  • Monitor project progress through site visits and meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Actively encourage and support a safety-oriented culture.
  • Participate in budgeting activities and manage operations within the approved budget.
  • Control staffing levels and organizational structure.

Project Delivery

  • Facilitate meeting project requirements with discipline guidelines and management of project allocated resources.
  • Drive innovative solutions and technology advances.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Oversee programs for technical competency and quality.
  • Ensure team member adherence to company processes and customer specifications.
  • Support global standardization and use of drawing and document templates.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Have a degree in mechanical, process, or mechatronic engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Be registered with, or be eligible for registration with, Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia as a professional engineer.
  • Have proven experience leading successful teams in Material Handling infrastructure projects.
  • Possess Project Management experience and a Project Management qualification.
  • Demonstrate experience in building and maintaining strong client relations.

“For applicants based in the province of British Columbia, the salary range is CAD $199,026 to $301,183. Application of the pay band: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
