Job summary

Tsuut’ina Nation Human Resources seeks a Director of Financial Reporting to lead the finance team in internal and external reporting, ensure compliance with PSAS/GAAP/IFRS, and strengthen internal controls while mentoring staff.

Reporting to the CFO, the role oversees monthly closes, regulatory reporting, audits, and the preparation of consolidated financial information to support timely decision-making and strategic initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required, with public practice experience preferred.
• Five years in a controller-level role.
• Two years with First Nation communities in financial reporting or audit.
• Knowledge of PSAS, Canadian GAAP, IFRS, and taxation.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.
• Experience with Xyntax and Acumatica financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly financial reporting and consolidate schedules; coordinate close processes and debt forecasting.
• Manage regulatory reporting, tax filings, internal controls, and audits.
• Provide leadership to Divisional Controllers; conduct performance evaluations and development planning.
• Collaborate with the CFO to design process improvements, controls, and procurement support; manage insurance renewals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
