Director of Finance

Position Overview:

Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg's leader in Permanent Recruitment, has partnered with our client, a government-funded organization, in the search for a Director of Finance. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance will oversee financial management, ensure efficient financial processes, strategic planning, and contribute to achieving the organization's objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all aspects of accounting such as AP, AR, and Payroll in an efficient and effective manner.
2. Lead, guide, and evaluate the accounting department with effective management and mentoring skills.
3. Prepare annual budgets and forecasts, and set strategic objectives.
4. Oversee completion of all daily accounting tasks and regulatory reporting.
5. Collaborate with both internal team members and external accountants to compile year-end working papers and review engagement schedules.
6. Internal financial statement preparation along with preparation of other financial reports following generally accepted accounting principles.
7. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of policies, processes, and procedures to identify areas for improvement.
8. Other financial and operational reports as required.

Requirements:

1. A Canadian professional Accounting Designation CPA (CA, CGA, CMA).
2. Proficient with technology and strong Excel skills.
3. Demonstrated strong leadership abilities.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently while leading a team.
6. This is an in-office opportunity in the Selkirk area.
