Position Overview

POWERGROUP Resources, on behalf of our client Wessuc Inc. is seeking a visionary, results drivenDirector of Finance. TheDirector of Financeis a key strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health and sustainability. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this individual will lead the finance function with a focus on strategic planning, fiscal management, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.

The Director of Finance will play a critical role in aligning financial strategy with corporate goals — ensuring compliance, optimizing performance, and supporting sustainable innovation across the agricultural, municipal, and industrial sectors we serve.

This role requires a high level of financial acumen, business insight, and a passion for driving value in an environmentally responsible organization.

What we need from you:

Experience & Expertise:

  • 7+ years of senior finance leadership experience
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to break down costs, interpret financial data, and identify opportunities for efficiency and savings.
  • Strong command of corporate finance, accounting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-site operations or organizations with diverse revenue streams.

Education & Credentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required.
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred.

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence executive decision-making with clarity and confidence.
  • Track record of developing scalable systems, processes, and structures to support organizational growth.

Analytical & Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting tools, and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with cost accounting, project-based finance, and capital expenditure planning.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to build strong relationships across operations, compliance, HR, and field service teams.

What you will do:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that align with corporate goals and long-term sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the COO and executive team to shape business plans, assess financial viability of new ventures, and guide key investment decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning, integrating forecasting tools and scenario modeling to support business agility.
  • Monitor cash flow, capital requirements, and ROI on ongoing and upcoming projects.

Financial Operations & Reporting:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of financial statements, board reports, and performance dashboards.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Manage external audits, banking relationships, insurance programs, and legal compliance in collaboration with legal and operational stakeholders.

Team Leadership & Culture Building:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance team that supports the operational needs of a growing, multi-service business.
  • Champion a culture of fiscal responsibility, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.

Sustainability-Driven Financial Insight:

  • Support ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting initiatives and integrate financial strategies that align with our environmental mission.
  • Collaborate on cost-benefit analyses for sustainable technologies, waste reduction initiatives, and green investments.
