Position: Director of Finance

Located in Mississauga, this executive-level position offers a competitive salary range of $170,000 – $190,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall financial strategy, planning, and analysis functions to drive informed executive decision-making.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and risk assessment across high-rise development projects.
  • Manage and mentor the finance and accounting teams, ensuring strong internal controls, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Partner with operations and project leadership to optimize job costing, project profitability, and working capital.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, insurers, and legal counsel.
  • Support M&A analysis, capital structure planning, and long-term financial modeling as the company scales.

Skills and Experience:

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, ideally within the construction or real estate development sectors.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams and collaborate across departments.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven success in developing financial strategies that align with corporate goals.
  • Technology Proficiency: Strong knowledge of construction-focused accounting software (e.g., Jonas, Sage) and financial systems.
  • Education & Credentials: CPA designation required, with a degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
