EDL Building Solutions in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Director of Finance to shape long-term strategy, evaluate acquisitions, and lead Finance, HR, and IT. This is a ground-floor opportunity with senior leadership.

You will own financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, drive enterprise value, and oversee multi-entity consolidation and inter-company transactions. Based out of Edmonton with competitive compensation and benefits.

Formación

• CPA designation required or equivalent.
• Progressive finance leadership experience.
• Multi-entity and inter-company accounting experience.
• Hands-on mergers and acquisitions experience: valuation, due diligence, financing, integration.
• Experience leading or overseeing HR and IT.
• Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge senior leaders constructively.
• Experience with Jonas ERP software, particularly job costing, service management, project accounting, and financial reporting.
• Experience across construction, service, or a comparable multi-trade environment.

• Partner with the Vice President and President on strategy, governance, and the decisions that shape EDL's future.
• Lead Finance, HR, and IT, building the systems, structure, and capability to support growth.
• Own financial reporting, budgeting, and rolling forecasts that look forward, not just backward.
• Drive enterprise value through sustainable earnings, recurring revenue, cash generation, and return on invested capital.
• Lead the financial side of acquisitions, including valuation, due diligence, financing, and post acquisition integration.
• Manage inter-company transactions across operating entities and holding companies, including allocations, eliminations, and consolidated reporting.
• Support the design and administration of the company wide short term incentive and bonus plan, including calculation and payout.
• Manage cash flow, working capital, and treasury, including banking and lender relationships.
• Partner with operational leaders on margins, labour utilization, job costing, pricing, and overhead, and challenge the numbers when they do not add up.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Finance, HR, and IT teams, and hold them to clear standards of accountability.

Over the next five to seven years, we intend to become a platform company through acquisition, disciplined integration, and organic growth. This is a ground floor seat in building it. You will join the senior leadership team at the point where the decisions you make shape what EDL becomes, not just how it reports.

We are looking for a Director of Finance who is equally comfortable setting long term financial strategy, evaluating an acquisition, and rolling up their sleeves to fix an immediate problem. Reporting to the Vice President and partnering with the President, you will lead Finance, Human Resources, and Information Technology, three functions that must work together to make growth repeatable.

The Person We're Looking For

What You Bring

• A professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
• Progressive finance leadership experience, including several years leading a finance function at a senior level.
• Multi entity and inter-company accounting experience, including holding company structures and consolidation.
• Hands on mergers and acquisitions experience: valuation, due diligence, financing, and integration.
• Experience leading or overseeing functions beyond finance, ideally HR and IT.
• Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge senior leaders constructively.
• Experience with Jonas ERP software, particularly job costing, service management, project accounting, and financial reporting, is considered a strong asset.
• Experience across construction, service, or a comparable multi trade environment will set you apart.

What You'll Get

• Annual base salary: $130,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
• Target short term incentive (STIP): 20% of annual base salary, subject to plan terms and performance.
