Position description: Director, Family Ministries (Part-time)

Position Summary:
The Director of Family Ministries is responsible for leading and managing the Tap Kids team and volunteers, equipping parents in active faith formation of their kids, overseeing and executing events within the church and through mission to the neighborhood of Marpole, maintaining the vision and ministry of discipleship at the Tapestry Marpole, and ensuring all responsibilities are completed in a purposeful, strategic and focused manner that points people to Jesus.

Primary Areas of Responsibility:
The following responsibilities and expectations are representative of half-time employment at 20 hours per week. As with all positions, the actual amount of time devoted changes with particular tasks at hand, outcomes to be achieved, and the efficiency with which activities are completed.

  1. Equips and empowers parents to disciple their children. Builds a ministry team to serve Tap Kids, while integrating parents’ discipleship with the faith formation of their children.
  2. Ensures recruitment, development, discipleship, supervision and support for the Tap Kids team and is accountable to ensure strategic accomplishment of the vision.
  3. Collaborates with Campus pastor on yearly strategy (calendar and budget), and facilitates team involvement.
  4. Provides proactive, strategic communications across multiple platforms resulting in growth and active engagement among children and families of the community.
