Job summary

The District of Squamish is seeking an experienced leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as the Director of Facilities, Sustainability & Real Estate. This exempt, full-time role directs long-term civic facility planning and asset management across real estate portfolios, with strategic oversight of the Sustainability team to advance environmental stewardship and climate actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced certification in Engineering, Architecture, Facility Management, Real Estate, Sustainability or a related field
• Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in facilities, real estate, infrastructure, asset management, sustainability, or a related field
• 5 years of senior leadership/management experience leading multidisciplinary teams, budgets and complex organizational initiatives
• Experience managing in a unionized environment is considered an asset

Director of Facilities, Sustainability & Real Estate - Permanent Full-Time

The District of Squamish is seeking an experienced leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as the Director of Facilities, Sustainability & Real Estate. This is a unique opportunity to lead the long-term strategic civic facility plans for the District and play a pivotal role in the growth and development of Squamish. The Director is also responsible for the District's overall facility-related asset management program and real estate portfolios.

In addition, this role provides strategic oversight for the District’s Sustainability team, leading environmental stewardship, waste management, and community focused climate action initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative, future-focused leader who thrives in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment and is committed to building a resilient, livable community.

What we’re looking for:
