Job summary
Canada Life is seeking a Director of Technical Solutions for Enterprise Application Integrations in Toronto with leadership across delivery, technology and people. You will shape the integration strategy, drive API-led and event-driven modernization, and guide secure, resilient capabilities across Canada Life.

Qualifications
- Proven technology and engineering leadership experience.
- Strong delivery leadership translating priorities into technology outcomes.
- Expertise in enterprise integration, APIs and microservices.
- Ability to influence across organisational boundaries.
- Strong architectural judgement balancing direction with pragmatic delivery.
- Experience coaching and developing technical leaders.
- Excellent communication, ability to explain complex tech to diverse audiences.
- Growth mindset and willingness to challenge existing approaches.
- Experience in financial services, insurance or wealth management.
- Hands-on early-career experience in software development or architecture.
- Experience with cloud technologies and modern cloud architectures.
- Experience leading geographically distributed teams.
- Experience with product-oriented technology delivery or product management practices.
- Experience driving DevSecOps, automation, observability and reliability.
- Using engineering and operational metrics to drive improvement.
- Knowledge of insurance and wealth domains.
- Reliability Status Security Clearance after offer.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering teams delivering integration solutions, including APIs and microservices.
- Build relationships with business and tech partners to enable strategic initiatives.
- Shape and execute the technical strategy and roadmap for Enterprise Integration.
- Modernise solutions with API-led, event-driven and cloud-native approaches.
- Establish engineering standards, reusable patterns and reference architectures.
- Provide technical leadership on complex initiatives across integration and distributed systems.
- Strengthen DevSecOps, automation, testing, observability and production practices.
- Partner with Architecture, Cloud, Cyber Security, Data and application teams for secure, scalable solutions.
- Grow high-performing teams, develop leaders and foster accountability and collaboration.
