Our client, an established leader in the transportation & manufacturing industry, is looking for a bilingual Director of Engineering!
Here's what you'll need to have:
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Bilingualism (French and English) is mandatory
- A Master's degree in Engineering Management, Project Management, or Business Administration is preferred
- 7 to 10 years of experience managing cross-functional projects in the manufacturing/industrial sector
- Technically savvy in Engineering
- Over 6 years of engineering experience in a leadership role
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to assess and solve complex problems
- Strong behavioral competencies including positive leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results-oriented and self-motivated; adaptable and agile, with proven change management abilities
- Excellent organizational and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the engineering team on track
- Proactive attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in deadline-driven environments
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team; accountable and dependable
Here's a glimpse of what some of your responsibilities will be:
- Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert
- Address questions and resolve issues raised by members of the engineering team
- Develop detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for the engineering staff to follow
- Plan, guide, and monitor project execution phases (schedules, quality standards, critical checkpoints, cost control, etc.)
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes
- Review and validate the accuracy of work performed and methods used by the engineering team
