A leading Islamic school in Ontario is seeking a part-time Director of Education & Strategy. This role involves high-level strategic leadership, governance, and mentorship, aimed at enhancing educational experiences. Location : London, ON (Remote position with occasional travel to school) Compensation : Competitive six-figure salary commensurate with experience (adjusted for 0.3 FTE) Hours : Approximately 10 hours per week, flexible scheduling About London Islamic School (LIS) Established in 1996, London Islamic School (LIS) is a full-time private school operated by the London Muslim Mosque, serving the Muslim community in London and beyond. Over the years, LIS has grown into a leading Islamic educational institution, fostering academic excellence and strong Islamic values. With a reputation for innovation and a commitment to student success, LIS continues to evolve to meet the needs of its learners. About the Role LIS is seeking a Director of Education & Strategy to provide high-level strategic leadership, governance, and mentorship to the school’s principal and board. This part-time senior leadership role will guide school improvement planning, performance evaluation, and resource allocation, ensuring that LIS continues to provide outstanding educational experiences for its students. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced school leader or education strategist who is passionate about Islamic education and wants to make a lasting impact at the governance level. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Governance Develop and oversee the implementation of LIS’s strategic plan in collaboration with the board and school leadership. Ensure school operations align with long-term educational and organizational goals. Provide guidance on school budgeting and resource allocation to maximize impact. Mentorship & Leadership Development Support and mentor the school’s principal, vice principal(s), and learning coordinators to enhance leadership effectiveness. Provide coaching on best practices in school administration, instructional leadership, and student success strategies. Identify professional development opportunities for school leadership. School Improvement & Performance Management Oversee the development and implementation of an annual School Improvement Plan (SIP). Establish and lead a performance evaluation framework for the principal and administrative team. Conduct regular assessments of school programs and initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration Work closely with the London Islamic School Board (LISB), providing strategic advice and recommendations. Ensure effective communication between the board, school leadership, and the broader school community. Attend board meetings, school events, and key decision-making sessions as needed. Qualifications & Experience : Graduate Degree in Education or a related field Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification Previous experience as a principal or senior school administrator (preferably in an Islamic school setting) Proven ability to mentor and develop school leadership teams Strong strategic planning, governance, and performance evaluation skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and decision-making abilities Preferred Qualifications :
