Director of Distribution

Location : Guelph, ON (On-site)

Travel Required : Occasional travel to facilities in Montreal, Vancouver, and Las Vegas.

Position Overview

We’re seeking a results-driven, analytical, and people-focused Director of Distribution to oversee our distribution centers in Guelph, Montreal, Vancouver, and Las Vegas. This role goes beyond day-to-day operations. We’re looking for a leader who can leverage data and analytics to drive performance , improve processes, and lead with both vision and accountability.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable on the floor and behind the dashboard — someone who understands the physical demands of distribution, but also excels at breaking down metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing smart, scalable improvements. Strong leadership, clear communication, and a firm-but-fair approach to team management are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Operations Managers, Supervisors, and associates across four facilities.
  • Oversee all facets of DC operations including receiving, storage, fulfillment, inventory management, and outbound shipping.
  • Use data analytics and KPI tracking to identify gaps in productivity, efficiency, and service — and develop action plans to address them.
  • Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies.
  • Support and drive the implementation of new Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and technology tools to improve operational visibility and execution.
  • Manage labor planning, budgeting, and forecasting to align resources with business needs.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and customer SLA standards.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with department leaders to ensure alignment across facilities.
  • Play a key role in new facility launches , from planning through execution.
  • Foster a positive, accountable workplace culture — one that prioritizes team engagement, fairness, and performance.
  • Coach, develop, and hold team members to high standards of professionalism and productivity.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of senior distribution or supply chain leadership experience in multi-site operations.
  • Proven ability to use analytics to drive operational decisions and improve performance .
  • Deep understanding of inventory control, logistics, and warehouse KPIs.
  • Strong track record of WMS implementation and process optimization.
  • Experience managing large teams (100+ employees) in high-volume environments.
  • Experience in opening and scaling new facilities is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills, able to be both approachable and assertive .
  • Tech-savvy and fluent in Excel, WMS platforms, and dashboard / reporting tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field.
