Job summary

Generations Toronto is seeking a Director of Care for its Long-Term Care Home to coordinate and schedule resident care activities in compliance with legislation and to maintain an atmosphere that supports optimal health and welfare for residents and staff.

This leadership role requires a minimum of 3 years of management and long-term care experience, with a current RN certificate and post-secondary education in nursing and gerontology. A diploma in organizational management is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant management experience.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Long Term Care.
• Current certificate of competence with the provincial College of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
• Post secondary education in nursing, nursing administration and gerontology.
• Diploma or certificate in organizational management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule resident care activities in accordance with applicable legislation and maintain an atmosphere conducive to optimal health and welfare.
• Respond to resident or family member concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken.
• Report complaints to the MLTC director and follow up as required.
• Coordinate the Annual Care Conference Program.
• Develop and maintain care plans, supervise nursing staff, and ensure staffing patterns, equipment, supplies, policies and procedures meet standards.
