Job description

SHR Talent is partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed, and highly profitable multi-site healthcare company in its search for a Director of Accounting. This high-impact leadership role offers an opportunity to build and scale a new accounting team from the ground up, working alongside a seasoned finance leader with a strong track record of success. Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, month-end close, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and financial reporting.
  2. Build and mentor a new accounting team to support rapid expansion and evolving needs.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  4. Partner with the Controller and CFO to prepare financial statements and internal reports for leadership and PE stakeholders.
  5. Implement and improve accounting policies, processes, and internal controls.
  6. Support integration of new locations and systems through acquisitions and development.
  7. Manage external audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
  8. Provide financial insights and support for strategic initiatives, budgeting, and forecasting.
  9. Drive automation and system improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  2. CPA license is required.
  3. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  4. Healthcare industry experience.
  5. Multi-site or physician services experience is strongly preferred.
  6. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  7. Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environments is a plus.
  8. Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
