The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director, Medical Communications to lead and grow our Medical Communications service line. This role is ideal for a seasoned medical communications professional with strong scientific acumen, leadership experience, and a passion for building client relationships and high-performing teams. As Director, you’ll lead strategic accounts, mentor and grow a multidisciplinary team, and shape the future of our scientific communications offering.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the senior lead on key client accounts, providing strategic direction and scientific oversight across a range of therapeutic areas and deliverables
  • Build, mentor, and lead a growing team of medical writers, managers, and scientific communicators
  • Lead scientific and editorial excellence, ensuring all content meets the highest standards for accuracy, relevance, and impact
  • Guide and review development of high-value content (e.g., medical education, training, publications, scientific platforms, congress materials, etc.)
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Project Management, Analytics, and Strategy to deliver integrated solutions
  • Contribute to business development through proposal development, pitching, and expanding existing client relationships
  • Provide strategic input into service line growth, innovation, and operational effectiveness
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and evolving client needs in the Medical Affairs space

What We’re Looking For

  • Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, PharmD, or MSc required)
  • 8+ years of experience in medical communications, scientific affairs, or related roles in pharma, biotech, or consulting
  • Proven leadership experience, including team management, client strategy, and scientific oversight
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to grow client relationships and identify new opportunities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-stream projects
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • A collaborative leader who leads with integrity, curiosity, and vision
