Job summary

WSP is seeking a Director, Major Projects - Resources to lead a portfolio of significant mining and resource projects across Canada, reporting to leadership. You will guide projects from early development through execution, strengthen client relationships, and advance WSP’s Major Projects practice while maintaining safety, quality and value for communities and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geoscience, construction management or related discipline.
• 15+ years delivering mining/resources/major infrastructure or industrial projects.
• Advanced knowledge of project governance, controls, contracts, forecasting and risk management.
• Experience across owner, EPCM, consulting, contractor, PMC and owner-representative environments.
• Proven success in building senior client relationships and expanding repeat business.
• Ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams and align multiple stakeholders.
• Experience engaging clients, contractors, regulators and Indigenous communities with sound judgment and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of major mining and resources projects with strong safety, quality, schedule and budget focus.
• Strengthen governance, reporting, controls and decision-making for Project Directors and Managers.
• Develop executive-level client relationships and shape major pursuits via capture planning and negotiations.
• Drive commercial performance by overseeing revenue, profitability, forecasts, contracts and risk exposure.
• Mentor and develop future major-project leaders and cross-functional teams across Canada.
• Shape long-term growth by aligning strategy with delivery.
