Job summary

Aplin is seeking a Legal Talent Director to lead recruitment, development, engagement, retention, and career advancement for associates and law students within the Dispute Department. This role works closely with the Department Chair, Practice Group Leaders, and Practice Director.

The Legal Talent Director will drive strategic talent initiatives that support the Firm’s strategy and core values, with a strong emphasis on DEI, wellbeing, and performance.

Qualifications

• JD or Bachelor’s degree in Law
• 5+ years experience practicing law in a law firm
• Experience in Legal Talent, or an interest in building a career in this area, with a background in recruitment and/or professional development
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent project, time management, administrative, and organizational skills
• A strong advocate for DEI, wellbeing, and performance
• Bilingualism is considered an asset

What we’re looking for:

• JD or Bachelor’s degree in Law, depending on the jurisdiction
• At least 5 years of experience practicing law in a law firm
• Experience in Legal Talent, or an interest in building a career in this area, with a background in recruitment and/or professional development
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent project, time management, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects
• A strong advocate for DEI, wellbeing, and performance
• Bilingualism is considered an asset
